Invite friends, family and even your furry companions to join in the crafting fun for Garden Day. There's nothing quite like making this iconic symbol of fresh blooms with your own hands.

You’ll need:

  • A flexible branch

  • Florist wire

  • Raffia, ribbons or sticky tape

  • A selection of flowers, leaves and grasses

Steps:

1. Find a flexible branch to use as the base structure for your crown. You can also use a few florist wires weaved together.

2. Start by creating a few small flower bunches, securing them with florist wire or raffia. Attach each small bunch along the branch by using florist wire, raffia or even clear sticky tape.

3. Choose a few feature flowers, such as a big, beautiful dahlia or rose and attach them to the branch in between the small bunches.

4. Tie some ribbon or raffia to the ends of the branch base and use it to secure the crown on your head.

Top tip: To make your crown more interesting and fun you can also secure fruits and veggies, such as patty pans and strawberries together with florist wire and attach them to your crown.

Top tip: Store your flower crown in the fridge and spritz it with water to freshen up the petals on Garden Day.
