Media 24 Home Page Takeover Competition
Promoter
The promoter of this competition is Garden Day South Africa on behalf of Babylonstoren (Pty) Ltd.
Eligibility
The competition is open to residents of South Africa aged 18 years and older with a valid bank account.
Employees of Babylonstoren and Garden Day, their family members, or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up or administer the competition, are not permitted to enter.
Competition Dates
The competition opens on 18 October 2026 at 00:00
The closing date for entries is 19 October 2026 at 23:59
The winner will be announced on 20 October
Entries submitted after the closing date will not be considered.
How to Enter
To enter, participants must submit a qualifying photo via the official Garden Day competition landing page: www.gardenday.co.za/landing.
Entrants will be able to access this landing page by clicking through from Garden Day competition advertisements placed on News24 and Netwerk24 on Sunday, 18 October 2026.
There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter.
Eligibility of Entries
To qualify for entry, photo submissions must feature one of the following:
A group of people in a garden, or
A selfie of the entrant wearing a flower crown.
Photos of gardens without people will not qualify for entry.
Submission Requirements
All entries must be original and taken by the entrant.
Photos must clearly show faces and/or flower crowns, as specified above.
By submitting an entry, participants grant Garden Day South Africa an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and publish their submitted images for the purposes of promoting Garden Day and related campaigns, across all media platforms, without limitation in time or territory.
Disqualification
Entries that do not meet the requirements outlined in sections 5 and 6 will be invalid.
The organisers reserve the right to remove or disqualify any entry that is inappropriate, offensive, or otherwise in breach of these Terms & Conditions.
Winner Selection & Prize
One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries.
The prize is a R5000 voucher from Babylonstoren.
The winner will be notified via the email address provided when submitting their entry.
To claim the prize, the winner must provide their full name, address, telephone number, email address and ID number.
Prize Fulfilment
The prize will be sent to the winner via email within two (2) weeks after the winner has submitted their details.
Garden Day South Africa cannot be held responsible for any delays or issues beyond its control, including but not limited to incorrect details supplied by the winner or delays within the email provider’s system.
The prize is non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash.
Independence of the Competition
This competition is organised solely by Garden Day South Africa and is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Media24, News24, Netwerk24, or any of their affiliates.
General Terms
Garden Day South Africa reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms without notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Plant Tag Competition

The winner will be announced on 23 October 2026
Entries submitted outside the closing open and closing dates will not be considered.
How to Enter
To enter, participants must submit a qualifying photo via the official Garden Day WhatsApp line.
Entrants can access this WhatsApp line by scanning the QR code on the Garden Day plant tags attached to plants sold at various retailers.
There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter.

The prize is non-transferable and may not be exchanged for an alternative.

Garden Centre Display Competition
Promoter
The promoter of this competition is Garden Day South Africa on behalf of Babylonstoren (Pty) Ltd.
Eligibility
This competition is open to the 14 Garden Centres participating in Garden Day South Africa 2026.
Each participating Garden Centre may submit one in-store display entry per branch.
Employees of Garden Day South Africa involved in judging or administering the competition are not permitted to enter.
Competition Dates
The competition opens on 21 September 2026.
The closing date for entries is 5 October 2026.
The winner will be announced on 15 October 2026.
Entries submitted after the closing date will not be considered.
How to Enter
To enter, participating Garden Centres must create an in-store Garden Day display that inspires customers to celebrate their own gardens at home.
Entrants must submit photographs of their display to [email protected] by 5 October 2026 to be considered by the Garden Day judging panel.
There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter.
Judging Process and Eligibility of Entries
All eligible entries will be reviewed by the Garden Day judging panel.
A shortlist of the top 6 entries will be compiled, from which the top 3 winning entries will be selected.
Entries will be judged against official Garden Day judging criteria, including how clearly the display can be identified as a Garden Day display.
The judging panel's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Submission Requirements
Entries must be original in-store displays created by the participating Garden Centre.
Photographs must clearly show the display, including any official Garden Day branding used.
By submitting an entry, participants grant Garden Day South Africa an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and publish submitted images for the purposes of promoting Garden Day and related campaigns, across all media platforms, without limitation in time or territory.

Entries that do not meet the requirements outlined in sections 4 to 6 will be invalid.

Winner Selection & Prize
Three winning entries will be selected by the Garden Day judging panel.
1st place: R15,000 cash
2nd place: R10,000 cash
3rd place: R5,000 cash
Winners will be notified via the contact details provided when submitting their entry.
Prize Fulfilment
Prizes will be paid by electronic funds transfer (EFT) directly into the winning Garden Centre's South African bank account.
Payment will be made within two (2) weeks after valid bank details have been received.
Proof of payment will be sent to the winner's email once the transfer has been made.

Only entries with all required fields completed will be considered.
There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter.
Disqualification
Entries that are incomplete, contain false or misleading information, or do not meet the requirements outlined in section 4 will be invalid.
The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entry that is in breach of these Terms & Conditions.
Winner Selection & Prize
One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries.
The prize is a hamper worth R3,000 from Babylonstoren. The hamper will be selected by the promoter, and the winner will not be able to choose which hamper they receive.
The winner will be notified via the email address provided when completing the subscribe form.
To claim the prize, the winner must provide their full name, delivery address, telephone number, email address and ID number.
Prize Fulfilment
The prize will be delivered to the address provided by the winner within two (2) weeks after the winner has submitted their details.
