Join chefs Schalk Vlok and Horrell & Horrell for an intimate sit-down dinner at Babylonstoren, bringing together their individual approaches to food for a one-night-only collaboration.

For this evening, the spontaneity of cooking together gives way to a more considered menu, created around the ingredients that define both kitchens. Produce from the Babylonstoren garden and farm takes centre stage, alongside carefully selected seasonal ingredients, with each course reflecting the chefs’ shared appreciation for honest flavours, thoughtful preparation and cooking with fire.

The evening begins with aperitifs and canapés before guests take their seats for a generous progression of dishes designed to be enjoyed around the table.

Beneath the soft sea-breeze of Kalk Bay, Très Nagual Natural Perfumery is doors to honour Garden Day.

A gentle celebration of earth, hand, and heart.

Join us as we share:

• Vessels by Bridgitte Lilley: Forms that hold silence and light, shaped with a deep reverence for clay.

• Scents by Très Nagual: Fragrances born of fynbos, resin and dream … each one a personality, alchemised slowly from tender intimacy.

• Adornment by Lapis: Jewellery that rests against skin like a whispered secret, drawing the wearer’s own bold radiance outward.

• Clothing by Pure Solid: Garments of pure natural fibre that feel like a second skin… soft, breathable, and made with a spirit of zen minimalism.

• Mugs by Katherine Glenday: Paper-thin porcelain vessels that catch and carry - delicate yet luminous, like breath made tangible.

• Poetry by Boudica Collins: Words that bloom gently in the air, offering small windows into wonder, through a pulse of everyday contemplations.

Doors open from 10am to 5pm for an open studio day. Come and wander through at your own pace. Herbal tea and light snacks will be offered throughout. We will gently guide you through new works as the day unfolds.
