Babylonstoren: Create your own flower crown for Garden Day
Get ready to celebrate Garden Day! Warm up for the feast by bringing along your friends, parents or children to share in the joy of creating flower crowns with the guidance of our Flower Team. Whether you’d like to stand proud like Caesar or Aphrodite, or rather dance about like a flower fairy, our garden is where it all begins. The workshop includes flowers and all materials. Steaming coffee from the Farm Shop is served upon arrival. Juice, water and snacks will be served as refreshments.

Garden Day at Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden
The Sculpture Garden will be open to celebrate Garden Day!
Guests are welcome to meander the garden in their own time, or join a guided tour at 10:00.
There will be a flower crown station set among the Dombeya rotundifolia trees, while they are in fleeting spectacular bloom.

Discover the story of Boschendal’s Werf Food Garden
Sunday, 18 October 2026 | 10h00 – 14h00
This Garden Day, step into the heart of Boschendal’s beautiful Werf Food Garden for an immersive journey into the way we grow, nurture and regenerate our land.
Surrounded by abundant planting, seasonal produce and the beauty of the historic Werf, guests will be invited to explore the garden through five immersive and educational hands-on experiences, each revealing a different part of the story behind what grows here.
Your journey will take you from waste to soil, soil to life, and seed to bloom, discovering the people, plants and natural processes that help our gardens thrive.
Groups will rotate between five stations throughout the experience, with each station offering a unique glimpse into the practices that make a regenerative garden possible.
Guests will take home a special keepsake from each of the five stations, giving you something tangible to remember your Garden Day experience by, and perhaps even something to inspire your own garden at home. Come curious and leave with a fresh appreciation for the incredible world growing right beneath our feet.

Spring Flower Workshop with Veld & Sea
Celebrate Garden Day with a dreamy day immersed in flowers with botanical drinks, flower crown making, walk, talks and an edible flower feast!
Veld & Sea’s multi-sensory workshops cover edible flower education, a guided flower crown session, interactive botanical drinks, and a flower-inspired light spring lunch.
What to expect:
The day starts with wild herbal tea, a walk through the gardens, and a talk introducing a range of edible flowers and their culinary and medicinal uses. Back at the Glasshouse, enjoy our rainbow botanical drinks creation station where you can make your own drinks with wild herbs, edible flowers, fynbos tinctures and syrups, before we move into a guided flower crown session using flowers from the walk and the bunch you bring along. An artfully decorated spring-inspired grazing table will be available for you to enjoy. You’ll leave with a beautiful flower crown, a floral gift, edible flower notes and recipes.

BABYLONSTOREN X HORRELL & HORRELL: A Garden Day Collaboration dinner
Join chefs Schalk Vlok and Horrell & Horrell for an intimate sit-down dinner at Babylonstoren, bringing together their individual approaches to food for a one-night-only collaboration.
For this evening, the spontaneity of cooking together gives way to a more considered menu, created around the ingredients that define both kitchens. Produce from the Babylonstoren garden and farm takes centre stage, alongside carefully selected seasonal ingredients, with each course reflecting the chefs’ shared appreciation for honest flavours, thoughtful preparation and cooking with fire.
The evening begins with aperitifs and canapés before guests take their seats for a generous progression of dishes designed to be enjoyed around the table.

This Garden Day we’re taking a moment to slow down, appreciate, and celebrate all the wonderful growth on our farm, and encourage you to join us for a casual community gathering as we connect with nature.

Cape Town Cookbook Club
Introducing Cape Town’s Cookbook Club hosted by My Kitchen Rules South Africa Season 3 winners, Izak Redelinghuys and Wessel Pieterse. A bi-monthly get together where guests all cook a dish from a selected cookbook and simply get together to feast. Join us on 20 October as we celebrate one cookbook and feast together in one of Cape Town’s best known gardens in celebration of Garden Day!
How it works:
· Sign up for the mailing list to get invited and we will share the secret location for the feast.
· Cook a dish from the chosen recipe book. If you don’t own the book ask us for inspiration.
